| Aston Martin LMP1 #007 |
This is a unique opportunity to own one of the most iconic cars of modern day sportscar endurance racing. The Aston Martin LMP1 #007, has a race and championship winning pedigree in the Le Mans Endurance Series and a 4th position finish in the Le Mans 24 Hours to its credit and is available in the original and famous Gulf colour scheme. The Aston Martin Racing 2009 program was very much an evolution of their efforts in GT racing over the previous years and yielded very promising results. The V12 engined prototype fought well for overall wins and proved throughout the season to be the fastest petrol engined car on the grid. The Lola built chassis is a thoroughly developed bit of kit that has roots running all the way back to the B05/40 and B06/10 racers. The engine is equally proven, having powered the DBR9 to numerous of GT1 victories in the FIA GT Championship, in the Le Mans Series, in the ALMS and at Le Mans. This car was a development of the Lola-Aston that was raced in 2008. The Lola designed carbonfibre tub has been carried over without major design changes with the front suspension also supplied by Lola. From the rear bulkhead back, it's all Aston Martin. The most important ingredient is the Aston Martin designed V12 engine that produces in excess of 650 bhp driven through a compact six speed gearbox, which is operated via a paddle shift system. The exterior styling was extensively modified in a joint effort by Lola and Aston Martin Racing and is a lot smoother than Lola's original with styling such as the front grill and the tail lights taken from the Aston Martin road cars.
