| Benetton B196 |
The Benetton B196 was the car with which the Benetton team competed in the 1996 Formula One season. It was driven by the experienced pairing of Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger, who both moved from Ferrari to replace departing 1994 and 1995 champion Michael Schumacher and his number two, Johnny Herbert. The Benetton team finished the 1996 season in third place with 10 podium finishes. The car was chosen by the owner from several available simply because it was the best of the bunch, with the paint and condition of the car being absolutely beautiful. The late model cars were designed with large cockpits for safety concerns and are suited to almost any size drivers. The Cosworth DFR has been completely rebuilt to new specs and has less than 50 miles of testing time. The gearbox was completely re worked and set up by Lee Williams who previously spent 4 years as head gearbox designer at BAR. The car is currently track ready. If you would like to see the car run this can be arranged in the USA where the car currently resides. Spares/Extras Includes
